Compassionate Adolescent Specific Care

Adolescence is a transition period between childhood and adulthood, a normal developmental time filled with major changes in physical maturity and sexuality, cognitive processing, emotional feelings and relationships.


The Adolescent Medicine Program at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St.Vincent provides comprehensive primary care and specialty care to young people ranging in age from 11 to 21.


Our services include:

  • Primary care for teens and young adults, including well-adolescent visits
  • Sport participation physicals
  • Adolescent gynecology and family planning
  • Evaluation and management of sexually transmitted diseases
  • Consultative services for specific problems including gynecological and menstrual issues, eating disorders, behavioral problems and diagnostic dilemmas

Our Expertise

During office visits, we focus on concerns prevalent among teenagers such as acne, asthma, early hypertension, sexual development and recurrent pain syndromes (headaches, chest pain, and abdominal pain). We also stress preventive health care and educate teens about the importance of taking responsibility for their good health.
