Susan Maisel, MD

maisel_susan.jpgDr. Maisel is board-certified in pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition. She received her medical degree from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. She also completed an internship and residency at the University of New Mexico Hospital, and a fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center.

Elizabeth Schaefer, MD

Elizabeth_schaefer.jpgDr. Schaefer is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of Louisville, KY, and her pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition fellowship at the Indiana University Medical Center.  Dr. Schaefer is board-certified in pediatric gastroenterology and general pediatrics.

Sheela Deivanayagam, MD

Deivanayagam_sheela.jpgWe would like to give a warm welcome to Dr. Deivanayagam. She has been in practice in Rockford, Illinois and joined our team in June, 2011. We are very happy to have Dr. Deivanyagam join our practice. Dr. Deivanayagam is a graduate of Madras Medical College, University of Madras, Chennai (Madras), India. She completed her MRCP (pediatrics) at Royal College of London, UK. She completed her pediatric residencies at the Institute of Child Health, Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai, India, and at Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis. She completed her Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition Fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis. She has special interests in obesity and pediatric nutrition.

Cara Hokanson, MSN, RN, CPNP

cara_hokanson.ped gastro.jpg In 2003, Cara graduated from Purdue University with a BSN in Nursing. Cara worked as an RN on the Family Care unit at St.Vincent Women's Hospital for seven years. She then decided to pursue the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program at IUPUI. Cara completed the program in 2010.

Kelly Batthauer, CPNP

batthauer_kelly.jpg Kelly completed her undergraduate nursing degree at Indiana University. After working as a nurse on an inpatient pediatric rehabilitation unit for several years, she elected to obtain her Masters in Nursing with focus as a pediatric nurse practitioner. Kelly joined the pediatric gastroenterology practice at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at St.Vincent about four years ago.
